Da Dong Prawn Noodles 大東蝦麵 - Joo Chiat, Singapore

A long time favourite back home

Every trip back home for the last five years has been punctuated with visits to one staple location- a taste that is one of the cornerstones of what I associate with my home.

Whenever I am back in the country for longer periods of time, my family, friends and I find ourselves savouring a bowl of prawn noodles here as a weekly tradition and is sorely missed whenever I am overseas.

Prawn Noodles with Pork Intestines and Tail

Since I left home, I know that Da Dong Prawn Noodles has only flourished and continued to grow as a local gem and every time I am back, they never fail to bring a smile to my face and a taste of home to my taste buds.

As I do not always manage to make it back as regularly as I would like, Da Dong Prawn Noodles has influenced the way that I prepare my own homecooked version of prawn noodles and it’s own imprint on my cooking is something I will always remember.

Singapore, Orchard Road

Singapore is a beautiful country that I call home- a small little island that blends modernity with a taste of colonial architecture from a bygone era.

With a blend of being greenery conscious and future forward, Singapore will always have a soft spot in my heart as my hometown.
